It’s a type of machine learning based on artificial neural networks in which multiple layers of processing are used to extract progressively higher-level features from data. It’s essentially a neural network with three or more layers. These neural networks attempt to simulate the behavior of the human brain—albeit far from matching its ability—allowing it to “learn” from large amounts of data. Deep learning makes it faster and easier to interpret large amounts of data and form them into meaningful information.
